A new blend of teas

We’re delighted to share with you, that we’ve added a wonderful new tea selection at The Charcoal Hut. Using mainly locallly foraged ingredients, The Devil’s Nettle blend with love and care for the planet and we adore their approach.

Previous guests will tell you we’ve always had a great selection of tea and coffee (all included in your stay). We wanted to make sure our tea was ethical as well as tasty, so finding Ems and their brilliant brand of tea is great news.

And we also adore their teas! Having met Ems in Llandovery and tried their teas at Llandovery’s first PRIDE festival this year, we knew we wanted to include them in our offering.

The Devil’s Nettle is a local queer-owned business based in Llandeilo. After moving to the area a year ago, and discovering the abundance of beneficial plants growing right on their doorstep, Ems decided to start a radical herbalism project to share their passion for and knowledge of medicinal plants.

They create their own tea blends and other herbal products, many made with foraged ingredients, as well as running workshops from their apothecary in town. They also support various social justice projects with their work, donating money to period poverty organisations, TransAid Cymru and the Heart of Wales LGBTQ+.

The Devils' Nettle herbal teas

We love the approach Ems takes and the knowledge they have about local plants and foraging. We’re hoping Ems will create a special foraging experience for guests, which will include creating your own blends with them, right here on the kitchen deck. We’ll keep you posted!

Take a look at The Devil’s Nettle website for details on tea, bath and body blends and herbals smoking blends too.
